The Environmental Technician is a crucial member of the Ambipar Response team. This role is responsible for inspecting and maintaining equipment, controlling and managing hazardous and non-hazardous waste, collecting samples, managing waste operations, and assisting with regulatory compliance. This role involves physical labor, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work in diverse and challenging environments. Essential job functions include performing industrial cleaning and maintenance at client facilities in accordance with company, state, and federal requirements; adhering to company safety standards and procedures; performing spill clean-ups while wearing proper PPE; using vacuum hose to remove various liquids and solids; loading and offloading drums, totes, and equipment; performing preventative maintenance checks on equipment; assisting Driver Operators with operating and maintaining vacuum trucks; using company technology for project documentation and timekeeping; ensuring safety of personnel onsite; and performing other duties as assigned. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to work under pressure, physical stamina, commitment to safety and teamwork, ability to work autonomously, ability to interpret instructions, experience working outside in all weather, detail orientation, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include OSHA training, hazardous material endorsement, and relevant industry or military experience. The work schedule is typically 7 AM – 4 PM with availability for overtime, various shifts, and travel up to 50%. The job requires physical capabilities such as standing for long shifts, lifting up to 50 pounds, climbing ladders, working in confined spaces and extreme weather, and wearing personal protective equipment.
