Job Description
Our childcare is a small mixed age group of max. 8 children ranging in age from 0 to 3 years and a staff to child ratio of 1:4. We strive to create an environment following the Montessori philosophy with an emphasis on open ended free play and educational playful activities both indoors and outdoors.
Qualifications:
• Degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development Associate Certification
• 2+ years experience in childcare
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with parents and coworkers
• Understanding of the Montessori philosophy and its application in early childhood education (or willingness to obtain)
• CPR/First Aid certification
• Comprehensive Background Check
Responsibilities:
• Create a prepared environment that promotes independent learning and exploration
• Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities that encourage curiosity, creativity, and self-expression
• Guide and support children in their daily activities, including practical life skills, sensorial exploration, language development, and cultural subjects according to their developmental stage
• Observe and assess each child's progress, maintaining records and providing feedback to parents or guardians.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes respect, empathy, and cooperation.
Currently seeking a full-time caregiver Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm as well as part-time two to three days per week from 8:30am to 12:30pm.
