All About Job Captain:

The Masbuild Job Captain will be instrumental in helping Masbuild deliver optimum design solutions to government entities, private and non-profit organizations, developers, and property and business owners. This position will be for 24-40 hours per week.

· You are knowledgeable about design phases and can communicate the differences and the deliverables.

· You can assemble a complete set of working drawings and can instruct others on how to assist you in completing project drawings in all phases.

· You may lead team meetings and coordinate consultants to complete design and construction documents so that the project plans deliver on the client vision, code compliance and building/design standards.

· You coordinate the inclusion of consultants plans and specs into Masbuild construction documents.

· You understand the process of bringing the client’s vision to life.

· You communicate with production and design support team to help them understand their roles and responsibilities and manage expectations.

· You educate the production and design team on the design process to help build confidence in the development.

· You are motivated, self-confident in a fluid environment, and you are resilient and adaptable to changes and challenges in a complex environment.

· You mentor team members and interns.

A typical day:

The Job Captain will be expected to perform a variety of architecture and/or interior design related tasks and work with the team for timely completion of deliverables.

· Create complete Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development and Construction Documents for architecture and possibly interior projects

· Develop Space Planning concepts, Furniture, Fixture and Equipment (FF&E) layouts and installation plans

· Develop and deliver graphic presentation materials and design documentation for interiors including visuals and samples

· Interface with Building and Permitting officials

· Record Keeping including minutes, transmittals, phone records, etc.

· Coordinate sub-consultants, contractors and sub-contractors

· Process submittals, RFI’s

· Overseeing and coordinating the work of others

Job Requirements:

· Minimum 5 years’ experience

· Must have strong expert knowledge of Building Codes, Accessibility, ADA

· Excellent Communication skills oral, written

· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

· Strong time management skills

· Ability to work on multiple projects

· Strong knowledge of FF&E, color and materials including freestanding and systems furniture

· BA in Architecture (or comparable knowledge)

· Proficiency in ACAD, Revit, SketchUp

· Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)

· Ability to get to various project sites, client meetings, etc.

Desired

· Working on CASp, LEED designation,

- Architecture License a plus
