Job Description

The Senior Accountant of Accounting and Special Projects handles complex and often cross business unit accounting and finance matters. The role will be responsible for managing multiple projects at a time while also managing certain month end close matters of complex and/or urgent nature. The role will report to the Assistant Controller and will support the Specialty Division within the PSaS controllership organization. Key Responsibilities include providing accounting and project management assistance to various Specialty projects such as Compile, Biologics, USON, Prism, CORE/FCS, reserve methodology research and application, month end and year end close activities; identifying and driving automation efforts for the Specialty division of PSaS; assisting with Controllership SOX and operational controls improvement and documentation; coordinating with the ARC and NAFSS teams to improve quality of services and enhance/create performance metrics; analyzing intercompany disputes, researching root cause and implementing corrective processes; preparing monthly and quarterly balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analysis; assisting with preparation of the quarterly Controllership binder; supporting or running ad hoc projects or reports at the request of the Controller or Assistant Controller. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent experience, CPA designation, minimum of 7 years of accounting experience, experience with PeopleSoft, SAP or other large ERP, project management and process improvement experience, strong reporting and variance analysis skills, advanced MS Excel skills, strong analytical skills, and thorough knowledge of US GAAP principles and internal control environments. Additional skills include strong communication, ability to work independently, and SOX control design and testing experience preferred. Candidates must live within 50 miles of Irving, TX, The Woodlands, TX, or Alpharetta, GA. Travel up to 10% is required. Must be authorized to work in the US; sponsorship is not available.
