At First Orion, we're looking for a UX/UI Designer who thrives on solving real user problems with thoughtful design. This role goes beyond creating visually polished screens-you'll partner with product, engineering, and research to design intuitive experiences rooted in actual user behavior. You should be comfortable working in Figma, applying research insights to design flows, and collaborating cross-functionally to bring ideas to life. While we have a dedicated UX Researcher on the team, your role will involve participating in research analysis, identifying design opportunities, and iterating based on findings. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their design career who's already worked on real product teams and is ready to grow in both design and product thinking. What You'll Do: Work closely with the UX Research Lead and Product Designers to design intuitive, effective experiences across desktop and mobile products. Apply user research insights to design solutions that meet real needs - turn findings into wireframes, flows, and high-fidelity designs. Use tools like Figma to create design components, collaborate with other designers, and prepare handoffs for development. Collaborate with Product Managers and Engineers to scope features, ensure usability, and balance tradeoffs between user needs and business goals. Participate in usability testing and feedback synthesis to refine designs and improve outcomes. Advocate for the user across every touchpoint in the product lifecycle. What We're Looking For: Bachelor's degree in Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Marketing, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field 1-3 years of experience designing digital products (web and/or mobile) as part of a product team. Familiarity with UX research methods such as usability testing, surveys, or behavior analysis-and how to apply them to design decisions. Proficiency in Figma or similar tools, including working with design systems and component libraries. Ability to communicate design ideas clearly, take feedback, and iterate based on user insights. Experience collaborating with product managers and developers in an Agile or fast-paced environment. A portfolio that demonstrates your design process, not just finished screens. Bonus Points For: Experience using tools like Hotjar, Google Analytics, or other behavior analytics platforms. Knowledge of accessibility principles (WCAG) and how to design inclusive experiences. Interest in data-driven design and lightweight experimentation (e.g., A/B testing). Strong desire for creative problem solving and a willingness to ask questions.
