TITLE : VP, Finance LOCATION: Admin Office CLASSIFICATION: Exempt REPORTS TO: CEO SALARY: Based on Experience SUMMARY The VP, Finance is responsible for directing all areas of finance, accounting, budget management, financial reporting, revenue cycle, billing and investment management for Planned Parenthood Southeast (PPSE). The VP, Finance is responsible for maintaining the financial health of the organization and assessing future needs and impacts, including anticipating external changes that could impact financial performance and implementing changes that will assure sustainability. In close cooperation with the CEO, the Board’s Budget and Finance Committee, and the Board of Directors, this position ensures that appropriate financial policies are in place to guide the affiliate’s reporting and financial decision-making. RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Leadership ● Oversee the financial strategy, planning, and execution to support Planned Parenthood Southeast's mission, goals, and growth objectives ● Provide strategic financial guidance and insights to the executive team and Board of Directors, contributing to overall organizational strategy and decision-making ● Monitor financial performance and key performance indicators (KPIs), preparing and presenting regular financial reports and analyses to inform leadership decisions Controller Responsibilities ● Lead the accounting and financial reporting functions, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and analysis ● Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and GAAP ● Oversee cash flow management and banking relationships to optimize liquidity and financial stability ● Direct and supervise the finance team, including accounting, accounts payable, and payroll functions Financial Planning and Analysis ● Manage the annual budgeting process, collaborating with department heads to develop, track, and analyze budget performance throughout the year ● Drive financial planning and forecasting activities, providing actionable insights to support effective resource allocation and strategic decision-making ● Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis Financial Management ● Oversee and coordinate audits, tax filings, and regulatory compliance to ensure adherence to financial regulations and reporting standards ● Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize financial risks Financial Strategy and Decision Support ● Advise senior management on financial strategies, and risk management strategies ● Participate in strategic planning sessions and provide financial insights to drive sustainability and growth ● Identify and assess financial risks and implement strategies to mitigate potential exposures Financial Systems and Technology ● Finance lead for any system conversions or implementations with a financial component ● Stay updated with emerging financial technologies and trends to enhance financial operations, reporting and analysis capabilities Team Leadership and Development ● Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and fostering a culture of professional growth and development - direct and supervise team mentioned in controller’s section ● Promote teamwork, collaboration, and effective communication within the finance department and across other functions Relationship Management ● Build and maintain strong relationships with department leaders to collaborate in developing budgets, managing grants and analyzing new programs ● Ensures the finance department delivers high-quality and timely reports, analyses, and assistance to staff and leadership across the organization PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS ● Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred OR Equivalent experience ● Proven experience (8+ years) in financial leadership roles, with a strong background in financial analysis, budgeting, and accounting ● Experience in a non-profit or healthcare environment is highly desirable ● In-depth knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and financial regulations ● Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams ● Strategic thinker with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights ● Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization ● Strong ethical standards and a commitment to Planned Parenthood Southeast's mission and values PHYSCIAL DEMANDS ● Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time ● Ability to work some evenings and weekends Benefits Available We offer medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) with employer match, paid time off, 13 paid holidays and one paid floating holiday, short- and long-term disability, voluntary AD&D coverage, voluntary accident coverage, voluntary life insurance, and voluntary disability insurance.
