Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking to hire a **Systems Engineer/Principal Systems Engineer** to its team of diverse and qualified individuals. This position is in **Manhattan Beach, CA, Huntsville, AL or Colorado Springs, CO** and will support the Sentinel (GBSD) program. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force's sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure. **What you will get to do:** This position will support the Sentinel Program's Command and Control (C2) Hardware Systems Engineering team. As a hardware systems engineer, this position will help rigorously design and document the hardware architecture, components, interfaces, and performance of the C2 system. This position will develop hardware Trade Studies, Analyses of Alternatives, and Design Specifications to help finalize the C2 technical baseline leading up to the Sentinel Critical Design Review campaign. This position will work closely with a team of Systems Engineers and Hardware Engineers, applying Agile execution methodologies. This position will help resolve complex requirements challenges resulting from a many-tiered Specification Tree that must comply and is subject to several federal regulatory organizations within the defense base. The position will be responsible for coordinating with Engineering teams across the Command and Launch IPT at all levels of the spec tree to identify and resolve driving requirements and architecture maturity down to the hardware product level. This position will be responsible for leading complex negotiations with Hardware stakeholders in the areas of Cybersecurity, Nuclear Safety, and Software Engineering. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. May involve up to 10% travel. \#Sentinelsystems **BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:** + Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need. + **Systems Engineer (level 2):** Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of experience. + **Principal Systems Engineer (level 3):** Bachelor's Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 5 years of related experience, or a master's degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience, 0 with a PhD. + 1 year of experience with requirements analysis and specification development + 1 year of experience using Model-Based Systems Engineering concepts and tools + 1 year of experience with multi-disciplinary engineering development, including Software, Hardware, and Systems Engineering **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:** + Current Sentinel PAR access + Experience applying Military/DoD and ASME standards to product design + Experience writing design specifications for Hardware, Electrical, and Electronic components + Experience and familiarity with implementation of cyber-security techniques with emphasis in hardware layer application + Experience using IBM Rational DOORS to manage requirements + Experience analyzing MBSE diagrams using Cameo, especially SysML and/or DoDAF diagrams related to system and component interface definition + Experience with Agile execution principles and tools, including Scrum, Kanban, and Jira + Exposure to hardware/mechanical design processes and principles as outlined in division documentation such as E110P and E275M Salary Range: $81,300.00 - $134,200.00Salary Range 2: $103,000.00 - $165,500.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
